Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture is an ancient healing art thought to be between 3,000 to 4,000 years old, some sources think that it could date back three millennia. It has survived and evolved through the years and is still sought out as a powerful healing art. In the modern era, there has been a growing body of medical literature demonstrating the ability of acupuncture to treat a wide variety of ailments.
Dr. Holly A. Tucker has trained extensively in acupuncture, and particularly enjoys treating patients with neurological and musculoskeletal problems, headaches, and pregnancy related problems.
Acupuncture is safe for people of all ages. During a patient's first visit, Dr. Tucker will review the intake forms and take a detailed history. Next a thorough physical examination will be performed along with electrodiagnostic analysis of the meridian system with a MEAD device. After the examination Dr. Tucker will discuss any pertinent findings, and recommend an appropriate treatment plan. If the doctor feels that your problem cannot be effectively managed with acupuncture or other conservative treatment alone, we will refer you for co-management with the appropriate medical provider. Most patients will receive acupuncture treatment during their first visit.
